A quality image makes the difference in motivating someone to come meet an animal in person. However, understaffed shelters often do not have the time or money to take high-quality photos of their cats and dogs. Shelters often use intake photos of animals on their adoption profiles, which are typically poorly lit, low-quality, and display the animal in a frightened and vulnerable state.
So, we set out to help our local animal shelter improve their adoption profiles and, thus, adoption rates. I took high-quality photos while my best friend and copywriter, Emily Bright, wrote personality profiles on the animals. The staff at CNY SPCA were incredible and thrilled to have the help.
I love animals and dreamed of being a veterinarian as a kid. I ultimately didn’t have the scientific skill set to pursue this career, so using the skills I do have to help animals in need is my version of accomplishing this dream :)
